An exact solution is obtained for a simplified one-dimensional version of a lattice model for liquid metals proposed by Nara, Ogawa and Matsubara. The present model is composed of spinless fermions on a background atomic lattice gas with nearest-neighbour atomic interactions and electronic hopping. Thermodynamic and cluster size properties of the model are shown, in essence, to be equivalent to those of the underlying lattice gas but with renormalized temperature and density-dependent coupling constant and atomic fugacity.
