When the process of a systern in contact with a heat bath is described by the classical Langevinequation, use of the method of stochastic energetics [K. Sekimoto: J. Phys. Soc, Jpn. 66 (1997)1234] enables us to derive the form of Helrnholtz free energy and the dissipation ftnnction ofthe systerta. We are able to prove that the irreversible heat Q3.. and the time lapse At of anisotherunal process obey the completnentarity relation, Q?., At >k?T .S'..j., where ,Smin dependson the initial and the final valtres of the control parameters, but does not depend on the pathwaybetween these va[tres.
