We have proposed a method using electron microscopy and the gas adsorption method to determine the submicrometer-particle content quantitatively in powder prepared by pulsed wire discharge. The mean surface diameter obtained by the gas adsorption method was larger than that obtained by electron microscopy. The submicrometer-particle content was successfully calculated by the ratio of mean surface diameters. It was found that this method made quantitative determination of the submicrometer-particle content possible.
