• Pseudo-β-DL-galactopyranose and pseudo-α-DL-altropyranose pentaacetates (<B>10</B> and <B>11</B>) were obtained in a seven step reaction starting from DL-1,2-<I>O</I>-cyclohexylidene-5-deoxy-<I>chiro</I>-inositol (<B>2</B>).
