Preparation of Piezoelectric Ceramic Transformer Operating in Bending Vibration Mode

A new type of piezoelectric transformer operating in the bending vibration mode was prepared using ceramics with the composition of Pb[Zr_<0.48>Ti_<0.42>(Mn_<1/3>Nb_<2/3>)_<0.1>]O_3, which showed an electromechanical coupling factor of k_p=0.48 and a mechanical quality factor of Q_m=2060. The transformer performed at a frequency as high as approximately 530 kHz and a high power density of 7.9 W/cm^3 was realized.
