Elastic and Piezoelectric Properties of Potassium Lithium Niobate(KLN)Crystals

The KLN crystal K_2_._8_9Li_1_._5_5Nb_5_._1_1O_1_5 was pulled from the melt.Piezoelectric and elastic constants were measured from room temperature to about 120℃ by observing resonant and antiresonant frequencies of bars and plates.The electromechanical coupling factors k_1_5, k_3_1, K_3_3 and k_t were 0.34, 0.18, 0.52 and 0.53 respectively.The temperature coefficiebts of elastic compliances Ts^E_3_3 and Ts^E_6_6 were fairly small and were-0.98 and 0.075X10^-^4/℃, respectively.
