Electron and Magnon Contributions to the Thermal Conductivity of YBa_2Cu_3O_y(6.1<y≦6.9)at Low Temperatures

The thermal conductivity K of sintered samples of YBa3Cu3O. has been measured below 4.2 K.In the region of y< 6.4, phonon and magnon contributions to n can be separated by consnderungthe difference between their 'Z'-dependences. By considering the y-dependence of n, we can alsoseparate the electron thermal conductivity tc,.? from n, although it has been found to have thesame V'-dependence (K,.1 (X T') as that of the phonon contribution n.,),. This T-dependence is con-sistent with the d-wave syrnrnetry of the superconducting order pararneter. The magnon thermalconductivity x... exhibits a crossover of its 'Z'-dependence around the temperature characterizedby the interbilayer exchange coupling between Cu spins, ,71. Information on the y-dependenceof the superconducting order parameter has been deduced from that of n,.?.
