Weak Ferromagnetism in (DBr-DCNQI)_2Cu (DBr-DCNQI=2,5-dibromo-N,N'-dicyanoquinonediimine)

Weak ferromagnetism has been found in (DBr-DCNQI)_2 Cu below the Neel temperature, T_N=16 K. The remanent magnetization does not decrease with lowering temperature, which is in contrast to that observed for (DMe-DCNQI-d_8)_2 Cu. The results suggest that the weak ferromagnetism is a universal feature of the antiferromagnetically ordered state of the DCNQI_2Cu system.
