Symmetry of the Superconducting Order Parameter of High-T_c Oxides and Consideration of k-Dependent Tunneling in STM/STS

By means of Scanning Ttrnneling lVIicroscopy/Spectroscopy (STIVI/STS), the superconductinggap structure of high-'Z'. oxides has been stttdied with the tip approach along the directionswithin CuO3 planes. Observed gap anisotropy is, at first sight, .ry-like. However the result canbe consistently understood by asstrzning (.r' - y')-like symnuetry and by introducing a modelwhich calctrlates A-dependence of the tunneling probability of electrons in the antibonding bandformed by Cu 3d.c .2 and O2p, orbitals. The conclusion is found to be insensitive to variousparameters used in the calculations.
