The Magnetic Properties of RNi_4Sn_2(R=La,Ce,Pr,Nd and Sm):Compounds

We have investigated the rnagnetic behavior of RNi,xSnz compounds (R = La, Ce, Pr, Nd andSm) by magnetisation, electrical resistivity and the heat capacity rneasurements. The alloys withrnagnetic rare earth iorrs order rnagnetic?rlly and the ordering is antif'erronnagnetic. SrnXijSnzshows the highest transition tenaperature of 55 K in this series of compounds. In PrNi,tSnx andpossibly NdNi,jSnz there are two rnagnetic transitions.
