A novel approach to heteropolyuner design is proposed. It is based on the criterion by Kturoskyand Detrtsch, with which the probability of 21 target conf'orrnation in a confortnation space ismaximized at low btnt finite ternperature. The key feattrre of the proposed approach is theuse of soft spins (fuzzy monotners) that leads to a design eqtration, which is an analog of theBoltzrnann machine learning eqtnation in the design problem. We impletnent an algorithm basedon the design equation for the generalized HP tnodel on the 3 x 3 x 3 cubic lattice and check itsperfornaance.
