The α → β transition in protein folding plays an important role of the folding and function of some proteins. In order to understand the mechanism of the α → β transition, we consider the lattice protein model which have following condition (i) native structure is predominantly β-sheet structure (ii) highly helical preference. From landscape analysis using new Monte Carlo sampling scheme, we found the model treated here has very similar properties to β-lactoglobulin.
