Density fluctuations in traffic current are sttudied by computer sirnulations usirag the deterrninistic coupled rnap lattice model on a closed single-lane circuit. By calculating the power spectraldensity of temporal density fluctuations at a local section, we find that it exhibits a power law,being proportional to l/ f"' where f is the frequency, in the noncongested flow phase. Thedistribution of the Jueadway distance h also follows a power law, being proportional to X/h"'The poxx'er-laxv flvrcttnations are destroyed by the occurrence of a traffic jam.
