The concept of thermal ratchets is extended to the system governed by qtrantutn mechanics. Westudy a tight-binding model with an asyrnrnetric periodic potential contacting with a heat bathunder an external oscillating field as a specific example of quantvrm ratchet. The dynarnics of' adensity operator of this systern are stttdied ntrmerically tmsing the quantum Liouville equation.The finite net current is found in the nonequilibriumaa steady state, which originates from jcurelyqttanttrna rnechanical effects. The direction of tlae current varies with pararneters, in contrastwith the classical thernaaJ ratchets.
