Elastic properties of the dense Kondo compounds CeNiSn and CePdSn with or-thorhombic structure have been investigated by the ultrasonic measurements. Theanomalous softening of the longitudinal C.., C.. and C.3 modes in CeNiSn is responsi-ble for the energy gap at the Fermi level in the quasiparticle band. A remarkableanisotropic behavior on the resistivity as well as the elastic constant in the magneticfield along the crystallographic a, b, c-axes has been observed. In CePdSn, the soften-ing in the longitudinal C.. and C, modes has been found.elastic constant, dense Kondo, CeNiSn, CePdSn, energy gapl
