ESR in Hexagonal ABX_3-Type Antiferromagnets. : I. Ground State Properties in Easy-Axis Anisotropy Case

We study ESR modes in the ground states of hexagonal ABX.-type antifer-romagnets with easy-axis anisotropy such as CsNiCl, RbNiCl., CsMnI.. Taking a sixsublattice model for the spin structure, we investigate the normal modes for the mo-tions of the sublattice magnetizations within the framework of mean field approxima-tion. In general, six kinds of modes are obtained by solving tl?e classical equation ofmotion, c1M,/ dt= [31, X H,3 . Frequency field diagram is presented. Ground state prop-erties of fields for resonance and line widths of Ill,SR spectra on CsNiCl, RbNiCl, andCsMnI, are reported. Calculated values of resonaruce fields are in agreement with ex-perimental results. The weak interchain exchange interaction constant J. is estimatedwith good accuracy as J./k.= -2.8Xl0 'K for CsNiCl, and -7.5X10 'K forCsMnI,.
