Effect of Antisymmetric Exchange Interactions around Impurities on the Magnetic Anisotropy in CuCl_<2(1-x)>Br_<2x>・2H_2O

Antiferromagnetic resonance experiments were performed on several crystals of CuCl_2・2H_2O in which Cl^- ions were partially substituted by Br^- ions. In these systems the antisymmetric exchange interaction of Moriya is nonvanishing in the vicinity of the substitutional Br^- ions and brings about an additional magnetic anisotropy having an axial symmetry about the b-axis of the crystal. The contribution of the impurity-induced Moriya interaction to the antiferromagnetic resonance parameters C_1 and C_2 is described as ΔC_1=xD^2/(2μ_B^2) and ΔC_2=0, respectively.
