Magnetic Field-Induced Phase Transitions in Fe_<2-x>Mn_xAs

Magnetization process of the intermetallic compound Fe. .Mn,As is investigatedunder a high magnetic field up to 560 k0e with a special interest in the metamagneticbehaviors both in the antiferromagnetic and ferrimagnetic states. Two kinds of step-wise transitions are found and the observed field-induced transitions are attributed tothe step magnetizations of the site-I moment where two kinds of magnetic instabilitiesappear under a high magnetic field. The moment increases of Fe and Mn spins of twometamagnetic states are quantitatively determined.
