Random Anisotropy Effect in Fe_<0.65>Co_<0.35>TiO_3

Random anisotropy effect has been observed in the neutron quasielastic scatteringprofile from a single crystal of Fe...,Co..,Ti0,. The effect appears in magnetic diffusescattering in the large q space. The instantaneous correlation function in small qaround q around antiferromagnetic superlattice points is of the Lorentzian squaredfunction of l/(x'-t-y')', where tc is the temperatured dependent inverse correlationlength below T.. Combined with other experimental results, we conclude that the ran-dom anisotropy field destroys the magnetic long range order in this mixture of twocomponents with competing anisotropies.
