Elastic measurements have been made on mixed crystals of rochelle salt andammonium rochelle salt, Na[K. ..(NH.).]C.H.0.?4H.0, by the piezoelectricresonance method. The temperature dependence of elastic compliance wasfound to be very similar to that of dielectric constant in the mixed crystal withany composition. A phenomenological theory was developed on the basis oftwo-sublattice model to explain the dielectric and elastic behavior in mixedcrystals assuming the concentration dependence of parameters.
