Preparation and Properties of PbTiO_3 Films by Sol-Get Processing

Thin films of PbTiO_3 were fabricated by sol-get processing. The optimum route and the conditions for preparing homogeneous and crack-free thin films were systematically investigated. Thin films were deposited on substrates by the dip-coating method. The films processed on silica glass and the (100) plates of SrTiO_3 exhibit preferential orientation of the (001) axis perpendicular to the substrates. The spontaneous polarization and coercive field for the films deposited on indium-tin oxide-coated (ITO) glass were 3.5 μC/cm^2 and 50 kV/am, respectively.
