Elastic properties of RbzCd.(SO.). have beeua izavestigated between 2O'C atad240'C. Elastic stiffness and compliance constants were measured by the ultra-sonic and piezoelectric resonance method, respectively. The softening of cl,+(l/,5'W4) was observed at cubic-to-monoclinic phase transition poiutt. In the triclitaicphase, gradual elastic stiffening was found. A IICW phase was found below -205'C and was identified as D:.
