Effect of Hydrostatic Pressure on the Phase Transitions of Langbeinite-Type Crystals

Effect of hydrostatic pressure up to 9 kbar has been studied by dielectricmeasurements on the six Iangbeinite-type crystals, TI.Cd.(SO.)., Rl>.Cd.(SO.).,K.Zn.(SQ.)5, K.Mn.(SQ.)3, Tl.Mn.(SO.). and (NH.).Mn.(503).. Thepressure-te?nperature phase diagrams were deternained. In the former two crystals,Tl.Cd.(SO,?). and Rb.Cd.(SO.)., a new phase was found betweext the PI andP232.2. .phases at high pressure. In the crystal K.Zn.(S0g)3 a?tother phaseappeared betweena the P2.3 and P2. phases, and the behavior is similar to that in(NH,?).Cd.(S0?)3. The P2.3=P232.23 transition temperature in. };.Mn.(S03)3linearly rises with increasing pressure. The last two crystals, Tl2M]1.(S04)3 and(NH,0.Mn.(SQ.)5 do not show any transition down to -196'0even underhigh pressure studied.
