Signals from satellites are often degraded by a propagation phenomenon called scintillation that is caused by irregular structures in the signal propagation path. A number of methods are currently used for indicating the range of the level of scintillation fluctuations. This work investigates the correlation relationship between the standard deviation value method and the maximum-minimum (P-P) value approach which are very common methods for quantifying tropospheric scintillation. It is confirmed that there is a very close correlation between the two methods.
