We have carried out ionospheric scintillation measurements since March 1980 by receiving L-band beacon signal (1541.5 MHz) from the Indian Ocean MARISAT maritime satellite at the Shonan Campus of Tokai University and Miyakonojyo National College of Technology. According to the data obtained, it was found that spike type ionospheric scintillation occurred most frequently time, particularly at summer night. In this paper we describe the results measured for various fundamental properties about spike type ionospheric scintillation.
