Single and double electron loss and capture crccss section?s have been measured forHe', He" and He" ions passing through a Zn vapor target at energies ranging from0.8 to 2.0 MeV. Uncertainties of the cross sections W'CIC improved by applying tlaeRutherford scalt?:ring naethod for tlte determination of the target t1?ickness. W'hencombined with other prex'ious experimental data, obtaixaed cross sections support theoscillatory dependence on target atonaic number. In addition, the equilibrium l11C8l1charges of He Tons were compared for solid and gas phases of the Zn element, but nodensity effect has been observed.[charge exchange, zinc vapor, Rutlaerford scalteritag method, target thickness, ll oscillatory dependence, density effectl
