Partial Structural Functions of Molten CuBr Estimated from the Anomalous X-Ray Scattering Measurements

The individual partial structtmral functions of molten CtrBr have been estirnated from theanomalous X-ray scattering (AXS) measurements. This data processing includes the help ofthe reverse Monte Carlo (RMC) sirnulation techniqvne. The cation-cation strtrcture factor of(2C.C.(Q) was found to be rather structureless and the closest Cu -Ctt distance in molten CuBrwas significantly smaller than that for Br -Br, indicating the like-Jon penetration into the firstunlike-ion coordination shell, similar to the molten Curl case. It is then strggested that adisordered close packing of Br ions where Ctr" tons meander so as to take strongly disordereddistribution by penetrating through the tetrahedral holes.
