Dielectric Dispersion Studies in Pyridinium Periodate Single Crystal

The static dielectric constant of the pyridinium periodate crystal was measured at the frequency of 50 kHz in the temperature range from room temperature to 365 K. In addition, the real and imaginary parts of the complex dielectric constant were also measured between 5×10^4 Hz and 10^9 Hz in the vicinity of the para-ferroelectric phase transition temperature (T_1). It was found that pyridinium periodate shows the dielectric critical slowing-down process near T_1. The observed dielectric dispersion is characterised by a single relaxation.
