Calculation of Cu 2p Resonant Photoemission Spectra in CuO

We investigated theoretically the Cu Op resonance of 3d, 3p and 3.s' X-rayphotoemission spectra (XPS) in CuO using a cluster moclel including multiplet coupl-ing, crystal field and anisotropic hylcridization. The spectra were calculated by takinginto account the radiative transitions up to the first order and Cosier-Kronig transi-tions up to the infinite order. The resonant enhancemettt is so strong that it can beused to interpret small satellite structures in both core level attd valence bandphotoemission spectra. The influerrce of the configuration interaction between the3p'3d" and 3s3d' final states is discussed.
