Ti 2p-,Ti 3p- and O 1s-Resonant Photoemission Studies of Ti_2O_3

The Ti 2p- and Ti 3p-resonant photoernission studies of Tix0a were carried out as well as Ol.s-resonant photoernission. The Ti 3d band has a broad lcand width of about 3 eV, but thestrong resonance enhancement was observed at Ti 3d band jtrst below the Ferzni level on theTi 2p resonance. The enhancement of the dotublet Ti 3p main line was observed mainly at thehigher binding energy. The resonant enhancernents of the satellite structures in the Ti 3d andTi 3p band regions were also found. The resonance spectra were analyzed by the cluster modelcalculation with large hybridization energy, where the satellite was elucidated by the chargetransfer satellite.
