Theory of the resonant 5p=3d X-ray emission spectroscopy (57t=3V RXES) forrare earth compounds is presented, where the incident photon is tuned to resonatewith the 3d=4f transition and the X-ray emission due to the 5p=3d transition is ob-served. The spectra are calculated by using the impurity Anderson model and by ap-plying a formula of a coherent second order optical process. It is shown that aremarkable change of the spectra due to the change of the incident photon energy andthe lifetime of the 3d core hole is observed. It is also shown that a luminescence-likefeature occurs when the incident photon resonates with the continuous excited state.
