Dissociated fragments, neutral particles and ionized target atoms resulting fromthe collisions of Hj ions with He, Ne and Ar atoms are measured in the energy rangefrom 4 to 16 keV as a function of the target thickness, and tlae cross sections of elec-tron capture and dissociation with and without target ionization are derived by solv-ing a set of the rate equations. Most of the cross section values are found crudely in-dependent of the ion energy, and the processes are commonly treated in a frameworkof classical one electron model.
