K Shell Excitations for Boron and Fluorine by Heavy and Light Ion Bombardments

The K Auger electron spectra have been measured for boron and fluorinebombarded with C". N" and 0" ions at 0.75-2.50 MeV impact energies.Those for N" and 0" in the cases of the F-l-N" and rfo" impacts have alsobeen measured. The derived cross sections for K shell excitation have agreed wellwith the MO model theories of Taulbjerg et at. and Meyerhof. The results supportthat the 2p vacancies of both colliding partners mixingly contribute to the crosssection.The K shell ionization cross sections have been derived for both target atomsexcited by protons and alpha particles, the results of which being generallyconsistent with the theories of plane wave Born approximation and binaryencounter approximation.
