Multiple scattering of MeV protons and nitrogen ions on amorphous foils has been studied by simulation using Monte Carlo method, where Moliere's single-scattering theory is used as a basis. The cases of different mean numbers of scattering (4<Ω_0<64), with and without energy loss process, and with three geometries of slit are simulated. The calculated angular distributions, the histograms of number of scatterings and an energy spectrum are presented. They agree fairly well with those predicted by theories of Moliere and of Keil, Zeitler and Zinn when the theories are applicable, and seem to be reasonable even when analytical treatment is very difficult.
