Susceptibility and Specific Heat Studies on V_3S_4

Polycrystalline sample of V.S. without ferromagnetic impurity phase wasprepared. Effective magnetic moment of -0.2 p./V was observed from suscep-tibility measurement. Specific heat was measured by a heat pulse method in 2 K<T<20 K. Large linear electronic specific heat 7T with 7=(26.5 f2) mJ/K'=molewas observed above 12.7 K. The electronic specific heat deviates from 7T below12.7 K. The deviation cannot be explained by a localized moment model. Theseclatx are characteristic to an itinerant weak antiferromagnet.
