Spin-Glass Transition in a Magnetic Field for Canonical Spin Glasses AuFe and AgMn and the Critical Phenomena

A magnetic field vs temperature (H - 7') phase diagram is determined from linearX.' and nonlinear Z.' susceptibilities perpendicular to H for metallic spin glasses AuFe(4 at.%Fe) and AgMn (4 at.%Mn). Two characteristic temperatures T.(H) andT.(H) in the H - 7'phase diagram are obtained from the measurements of Z.' and z:.The o/ signal has a round maximum at T = T.(H) and below T.(H) the imaginarypart of zJ increases rapidly around T=T.(H). The critical exponents p and y arefound to be /7=l.0:0.2, y=2.O*0.2 for AuFe (4at.%Fe) and /7=1.0:0.2,y = 1,7 : 0.2 for AgMn (4 at,%Mn) from the scaling argument. Nonlinear magnetiza-lion far above T is discussed with the Sherrington-Kirkpatrick (SK) model includingan additional atomic short-range effect.[spin glass, H - T phase diagram, critical phenomena, nonlinear susceptibility, ll transverse susceptibilityl
