• The birefringence of CSH2P04 was measured for (100) plate in the temperatureranne 95 K to 273 K. Contrary' to the r>henomenolonical theorv, the anomalouspart of the birefringence obtained below the Curie temperature (7'.,=l55 K) showsa maximum at 140 K and becomes negative below 1 17 K.
