Distribution?of the X-ray Bragg reflections jn the reciprocal space was inves-tigated for K.ZI1Cl4 at room temperature by meauts of the Weissetrberg method.The structure iut the ferroelectric phase is i?aterpreted as a modulated structure,with a tripled c-axis if the unmodulated high-temperature structure, induced pre-dominantly by a transverse phase modulation polarized along the ferroelectrica-axis. The atomic displacemetats due to the modulated waves are estimated fromthe crystal structure determizted by Mikhail and Peters.
