Two-step phase transitiorts are found in stoichiometric YFe.0. at low tem-perattu'es, about 230 K and 190 K during cooling. A hexagona[ lattice at roomtemperature is distorted to be monoclinic and subsequently triclinic. No parasiticferrimagnetism is found in YFe.0..(,., in contrast to oxygen-deficient specimenssuch as YFC203.94=
