Low-Temperature Magnetic Properties of Large Coordination Compounds CeZn_<11> and UZn_<12>

We investigated two intermetallic compounds, CeZn_<11> and UZn_<12>, for heavy-electron behavior and found that the coefficient of low-temperature specific heat is about 850〜900 mJ/(molK^2) for UZn_<12>. The compound CeZn_<11>, which has a relatively small γ value of 43.2 mJ/(molK^2), exhibited an antiferromagnetic long-range order at 2.0 K evidenced by a large peak of the specific heat and a broad maximum in the susceptibility, while UZn_<12> exhibited neither superconducting nor magnetic phase transition down to 0.4 K.
