Preparation of BiFe<sub>0.9</sub>Co<sub>0.1</sub>O<sub>3</sub> Films by Pulsed Laser Deposition under Magnetic Field

BiFe<sub>0.9</sub>Co<sub>0.1</sub>O<sub>3</sub> (BFCO) films have been prepared on Pt/TiO<sub>2</sub>/SiO<sub>2</sub>/Si substrates with a magnetic field of 0.4 T by pulsed laser deposition. BFCO films prepared under magnetic field show a single-phase perovskite structure with a little secondary phase, and their (010) and (020) peaks shift to lower angles than those of the film prepared without magnetic field. The BFCO film of about 1 μm thickness shows a columnar structure, although the BFCO film of about 350 nm prepared without magnetic field shows a grain like structure. The leakage current density of the BFCO film prepared under magnetic field is much lower than that of the BFCO film prepared without magnetic field. The saturated $P$--$E$ hysteresis loops of both BFCO films are obtained at 80 K, and the $M$--$H$ hysteresis loops of both BFCO films show a weak ferromagnetism behavior at room temperature.
