A Study of a Surface-Type Positive-Ion-Neutral Converter with Oblique Incidence

The effect of oblique incidence is investigated for the improvement of a surface-type ion-neutral converter for a keV neutral particle source, by using the TRIM85 Monte Carlo code. The emitted particle energy becomes higher and the energy width sharper than those for normal incidence. The angular divergence is largely improved in the area including the incident beam, although it tends to be large in another area perpendicular to it.
