Computer Simulation of Sputtering of Tungsten due to Simultaneous Bombardment with Deuterium, Carborn and Oxygen Ions in Plasmas

A computer simulation code which treats the erosion and deposition processes for divertor plates in magnetic confinement fusion devices is developed. The simulation code allows simtnltaneous incidence of three ion species, as well as a Maxwellian distribution and different charge states of the projectiles. The dynamic composition change of the surface layer due to projectile implantation and collisiornal trarnsport of solid atoms (no diffusion and segregation), and redeposition of sputtered atoms due to their ionization and gyromotion in a scrape-off layer(SOL) plasma, are taken into account. This code is applied to sptuttering of tungsten bombarded simultaneously by D^+ (88%), C^3+ (6%) and O^3+ (6%) ions at the SOL temperature of 40 eV.
