概要

(北)五味子はチョウセンゴミシSchisandra chinensis (TURCZ.) BAILL(マツブサ科Schisandraceae)の成熟果実の分果を乾燥したもので,日本国内においては小青竜湯や清暑益気湯などの漢方薬に配合され,中国では不眠症,滋養強壮,肝炎治療などに用いられている重要な生薬の一つである.チョウセンゴミシは中国の東北および華北地方,朝鮮半島,アムール地方,サハリンおよび日本に分布している.日本国内では主に長野県や北海道などに自生しているがその産量は少なく,国内消費のほとんどは中国または朝鮮半島を原産地とする輸入品である.
