A New Evidence in the ESR Spectra of the Incommensurate Phase of Bis(p-Toluene Sulfonate) Ester of 2,4-Hexadiyne-1,6-Diol

The ESR spectra of the triplet carbene were measured as a function of temperature in partially polymerized crystals in their incommensurate phase. Asymmetric broad lines, which could be interpreted in terms of the incommensurate modulation of the structure, were observed. In place of these lines, doublets which were ascribed to the domain with the commensurate phase structure appeared below the middle temperature in the incommensurate phase.
