Switching Transient in NaNO_2

The switching transient in NaNO_2 was observed in a temperature range between about 100℃ and the Curie temperature and in an applied electric field range up to 7 kv/cm. The shape of the switching transient depended remarkably on temperature; in the immediate neighborhood of the Curie temperature it was asymmetric, and it approached to a symmetric one as temperature decreased. Judged by Fatuzzo's theoretical consideration, the nucleation density would increase abruptly in the neighborhood of the Curie temperature and in the low temperature region the sidwise motion of the domain wall would be predominant. The field dependence of the switching transient showed only a slight change.
