Callus induction in tobacco, pea, rice and barley plants by auxins and their analogues

Callus induction from tobacco pith, pea epicotyl and germinating rice and barley seeds was investigated using a variety of auxins and their analogues. Among the indole compounds tested, IAA and IBA were the most effective for tobacco, IPA and IVA for pea, and IBA for barley. IAA and IVA were effective for rice. 2,4-D was the most effective after 2,4-D analogues for callus induction in the plants tested.
