Tlue cot'ndtrctance throtrgh txvo qtrantuun dots connected in series is stttdied below the Kondotetnperattrre, based on the slave 1)OSOII fortaaalisuaa of Flue Anderson model. The transport properties are characterized b.)' the rsrtio of tlae utaargnitude of the ttrnneling cottpling betxveen txvo dotsto tlte xvidth of' tlae level ].croadeniuag. NVIaen tJae ratio is less than tznity, the Kondo resonantstates are fortaaed betxx'een each dot ;xrud an external le?rd, and the condttctance is deterttained bythe hopping bet, ween the two resonant states. XVlaen the ratio is larger tlaan ttnity, these Kotadoresouaar?ces are split into the bonding ?tnd antiloonding peaks, which are loc?xted beloxv and abovethe Fertmi level in the leads, respectively, for IOXV gate voIt?xges. As a restrlt, the condtrctance isstrppressed. The coradtrctance has a uaaaxitaaurua of 2e' /In wlaen tlae bonding peak is rnatched withthe Ferrni level b3' controlling the gate voltage.
