Magnetic susceptibility of three graphite specimens with different degrees of rhombohedral structure is measured between liquid helium and room temperatures. Diamagnetic susceptibility of rhombohedral graphite is evaluated as a function of temperature in this temperature range. The magnitude of the susceptibility for rhombohedral graphite is much larger than that for hexagonal graphite and the susceptibility is maximum at around 60 K. The experimental results are analyzed and satisfactorily interpreted in terms of the theory for rhombohedral graphite.
