The heat capacities for liquid Sb-Se alloys exhibit anomalous behaviour with thechange of temperature and composition. Liquid Sb... Se., alloy shows maximum inthe temperature dependence of heat capacity. The temperature at the maximumof heat capacity for liquid Sb.., Se.., alloy corresponds to the temperature at which thenonmetal-metal transition occurs. The paramagnetic susceptibilities of liquidSb. .Se, alloys with 0.6<.X'< 1.0 can be attributed to the formation of danglingbonds caused by the bond breaking due to the thermal agitation. The characteristicbehaviour of heat capacities for liquid Sb-Se alloys can be related to change in in-termediate-range order and in local bonding configuration.
